Free Champagne
So here’s the deal, the blogs recently have been pretty boring and long (thanks E&Ms). I’ve been to a couple of presentations on BIM recently and that’s also a long boring subject. I’m not likely to have to buy Champagne in the mess for any celebratory reasons in the foreseeable future so i’ll buy a bottle when we get back to Chatham for the first current STUDENT to translate all the TLA buzzwords below. Staff or former students feel free to play along separately for your own for personal pride/shame. I’m guessing this is going to be won by an E&M as this is their level of boring.
In the event of any disputes my scribbled notes are final.
PAS, CDE, PQQ, BEP, LOI, IM, CIC, EIR, LOD, MPDT, PIP, BIM.

Tony,
PAS – Publicly Available Specifications
CDE – Common Data Environment
PQQ – Pre Qualifying Question
BEP – BIM Execution Plan
LOI – Level Of Information
IM – Information Manager
CIC – ?
EIR – Employer Information Requirement
LOD – Level Of Detail
MPDT – ?
PIP – ?
BIM – Building Information Modelling
Only one of these I needed to lookup from my thesis. Maybe you should have done the E&M cse – just saying 😏
Ha. Quick off the mark you geek. However the Ts & Cs do clearly state current students only (although your comments would be appreciated on Pt 2 when i post it). Bonus abbreviation – RTFQ 😛
Firstly – I did Read The F^+*^•g Question and as I don’t like Champagne I wasn’t bothered.
Secondly – I thought it would be more fun to ruin your attempt to increase your WordPress comments ranking by limiting your replies. Or is your cohort not playing that game?
If you do have any questions on BIM I can always wing you over my thesis??
Filling in the gaps above
CIC – Chickens In Cages
MPDT – Mr President Donald Trump
PIP – Parachutist Is Paralyzed
I eagerly await my champagne…..
MPDT is not a TLA…bonus shots?
IOU 1 x bonus Jager. Why doesn’t the course do all learning this way?
Fran,
Thanks. I’m looking at the role that BIM could play in fostering innovation and sustainability. Can you send it to anthony.strachan.ts@gmail.com or dropbox it it’s too big?
I suspect some people are playing the comments game, the mid season table looks pretty clear cut though. Cynically I was also interested to see if champagne was enough to tease out any comments other than “here’s my comment to prove I read this”. So far my money is looking pretty safe (aside from Chris’ pedantic Jager).
Tony,
Thesis sent – enjoy! It’s in PDF.
I was also gonna pick you up on the same pedantic point but it’s not my style. However, since we’re there anyway, IM, although technically still a TLA, I’m pretty sure you meant Three and not Two?? Integrity now…
I’ll let myself get away with that one. The beauty of using vague abbreviations, however you can have a shot for your thesis.
Here’s my comment to prove I read this.
Having questioned the BIM co-ordinator I got the others:
CIC – Construction industry council
MPDT – Model production and delivery table
PIP- Project implementation plan
I’ll have my champagne on day one of phase 4 please – it will soften the blow if being back in green kit.
Day 1 it is….but as you asked the BIM coordinator i’m downgrading it to a bottle of Asti from Aldi.
