Placement in London

All,

I’m currently on the PET(C) course in phase 1. A few of us are looking for a placement in London or the South East for Phase 2. Is there anyone currently on London placements who can put us in touch with contacts for work for next year?

My email address is alastair.bramson@googlemail.com. Any help finding a placement would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks,

Al Bramson

Al, I have given a few people a contact for Multiplex (ask Mark Stevens). The project I was working on (One Nine Elms) is probably in its best bit for your placement. I think they have recently won Broadway.

Get the number and what’s app the guy he will sort some visits before you commit. I am seeing the guy 10 Dec so let me know if you are still looking.

Bechtel and Gatwick will be building the western extension to Pier 6 from Aug 19 onwards. Its a steel frame building they’ll be building in 4no 43m x 48m x 23m sections in a Gatwick carpark then driving over the taxiways on SPMTs (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wL3YvOe0ZgE). Looks like it will be a complex and interesting civils project. The location is good if you want to be in the South East but not keen on central London and Gatwick is getting used to what PET students are about having had Stuart, Lee and I pass through recently.

Thanks for your help, Aug 19 might be a bit late for us but sounds interesting.

This bloke sorted me out with Arup before he left my project for Multiplex.

I have his details if interested – taught me a lot!

Andy Butler is CEng MICE, FIStructE etc… not just commercial as the CE post suggests.
