I can testify to the force of the ‘devil catcher’ as I thought an explosion had happened on site the first time they did it.

On a congested high-rise site I can see the advantage of pumping the waste concrete directly into a waiting truck for disposal off site despite the associated disposal costs. I wonder if this method of cleaning the lines prevents re-use of excess concrete on site for other applications.
