Thai cages

Hey all,

Craziness here too as my boss is away in Brisbane a lot and I’ve been the go-to about reinforcement and shipping coordinateion….usually ending in me reading the code and then finding an excuse to visit the designers next door with brains much larger than mine!. I’ve recently received the reinforcing cages which are being prefabricated in Thailand and they’re being installed on site. I’ve posted heaps of photos to show the operation which should ‘paint several thousand words’….see www.roselliott.wordpress.com!

    Hi Ros,

Just to let you know I’m still loving all the photos and as many words as you can bring yourself to write. I understand from John that you may be looking into the vast amount of steel that has gone into the piers – fanstastic, it should be fascinating and, perversly, might be quite good fun. The segments by contrast clearly have minimal steel which looks much more ‘normal’. Any good photos of pours, compaction and, above all, post tensioning would be most welcome. Hope the change in weather hasn’t got to you yet.

    Richard.
